Two Alabama A&M teams vying for supremacy in the SWAC will be in action this weekend as the women's basketball team will host two games on Saturday and Monday against Alcorn State and Southern, respectively. The men's basketball team also hosts two games at Elmore Gymnasium.  The bowling team also travels to Jackson, Miss. for the SWAC East Roundup over the weekend. The women's basketball team is tied with Prairie View for first place in the SWAC standings with a 4-1 record. The games begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 5:30 p.m. on Monday at Elmore Gym with the men's games to follow.

The bowling team finished second in the first SWAC Roundup of the season and will be looking to establish seeding for the SWAC Tournament later this season. The Bulldogs are also vying for national recognition as the NCAA selection committee begins to narrow its focus for the national selections later this season.

The men's basketball team is looking to climb back into the SWAC race after a slow start to the conference season. The home games vs. Alcorn State and Southern will be important in the race for seeding in the league tournament.
