Cantey and Bulldogs Handle Tuskegee

Double-double performance for Cantey in win

Box Score / Photo Gallery / Casey Cantey's go-ahead dunk as time expired in the first half Saturday capped a 14-4 rally for Alabama A&M to lead 33-31 at halftime, en route to a walk-away 73-51 win over Tuskegee at Elmore Gymnasium.  The Golden Tigers built an eight point lead with six minutes to play in the first half, but Cantey, on his way to a career-high 28 points on the night, helped lead the Bulldogs back in front and a halftime lead that they would not give back to the Tigers.

Alabama A&M opened the second half with a 17-3 run and never looked back as the Bulldogs evened their record at 3-3 on the season. Evan Hilton finished with 14 points, and Bo Amusa had six blocked shots.

The Bulldogs held Tuskegee to just 21 percent shooting in the second half.  The 51 points is the lowest total for an A&M opponent since the Bulldogs held Grambling to 45 points on the road last season.

Alabama A&M is off for 10 days and plays next on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Tennessee State.
