Hilton and Cantey Combine for 33 points in 71-60 Loss to Jackson State

Box Score / Evan Hilton scored a season-high 18 points as the Alabama A&M men's basketball team dropped its SWAC opener, 71-60, to Jackson State. Casey Cantey went 7-for-15 for 15 points in 30 minutes off the bench. Cornelius Hester chipped in with nine points. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 3-6 on the season. A&M is back in action on Wed. Jan. 6 when it faces Grambling State for a 7:30 p.m. tip.

As a team, the Bulldogs shot 41 percent (25-for-61). JSU edged A&M on the glass 44-33. A&M converted 15 Tiger turnovers to 14 points, while only having 11 miscues of their own.

For Jackson State, Tyrone Hanson led all scorers with a game-high 19 points. De'Suan Dixon had 18 points and eight boards, while Garrison Johnson tallied 12 points on the night.

The Bulldogs play at Grambling on Jan. 6. The game is slated for 7:30 p.m.
