JACKSON – The Alabama A&M Bulldogs dropped their second straight contest 30-14 to Jackson State University on Saturday night.
The Maroon & White (2-4, 1-3 SWAC) was led by sophomore Kaderius Lacey. The Calera, Alabama native totaled 22 carries for 150 yards, both season highs, and the Bulldogs only two scores of the game. Freshman Justin Jones got his first start at quarterback versus the Tigers and completed his first game of the year 9 of 21 for 115 yards and one interception. The Decatur, Alabama native had 10 carries for 18 yards. Senior Rashad Johnson led the team in receptions with three for 50 yards. Defensively sophomore Vernon Marshall collected a team high seven tackles with six of those solo. Junior Willie Fuller was second on the team in tackles with six total and two sacks for 20 yards.
A&M continues on their month long road trip as they travel Pine Bluff, Arkansas for a 6 pm contest on Saturday, October 16th.
