Bulldogs Lose to Prairie View on Senior Day

NORMAL—The Alabama A&M football team offense was unproductive until the fourth quarter but the time ran out for the Bulldogs as they fell to Prairie View A&M 35-14 for the sixth straight occasion on Senior day.

A&M (3-8, 2-7 SWAC) was unable to produce any points until quarterback Justin Jones hook up fullback

Devron Owensby with 7:21 remaining in the game. The Bulldogs next score came by way of a 49-yard pick six by defensive back Vandrick Jackson. His first of his young collegiate career.

The Bulldogs recorded four turnovers for the second time this season in a game that saw six mistakes by both clubs. Unfortunately for the Maroon & White they led in the turnover category giving up 65 yards.

The Bulldogs were led offensively by senior Tony Green who carried the ball 20 times for 68 yards. Sophomore Kaderirus Lacey picked up 28 yards on 13 carries. Jones finished the final contest of 2010 nine of 17 for 176 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown. Defensively defensive back Brandon Parson and leading tackler Vernon Marshall each finished with six tackles. Senior Korey Morrison picked off PV’s K. J. Black for his third interception of the season.

The Bulldogs finished the season 3-8 for the first time since 1992 when Ray Bonner was at the helm of the Bulldogs. This is head coach Anthony Jones second losing season at A&M in nine years.
