ATLANTA - The Alabama A&M University Lady Bulldogs defeated the Mercer University Bears 63-59 in the consolation game of the Georgia State University Thanksgiving Tournament at GSU Sports Arena, Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Bulldogs (2-3) outscored the Bears 32-28 in the second half behind the play of Jasmine Sanders who netted 15 points as a game high. Sanders also pulled down five rebounds.
En route to the four-point win, A&M led the rebounding battle over Mercer 36-32. Nesfayia Watkins and NeDra Robinson rounded out the double figure scorers for the Lady Bulldogs, contributing 13 and 12 points respectively.
Sharmesia Smith and Briana Williams each led Mercer (0-5) with 12 points.
Up next the Lady Bulldogs will host LeMoyne-Owen College on Tuesday, December 7, at 5:30 p.m. in Elmore Gymnasium.
