Amusa's Career-High Night Leads A&M Past Alcorn

Box Score / Bo Amusa scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Alabama A&M men's basketball team past Alcorn State, 72-60 on ESPNU. Amusa also had eight-boards two blocks, and two steals. Maurice Kemp tallied his first double-double of his career with 10 points and 11 boards. Cornelius Hester had 11 points and pulled down nine off the glass in 26 minutes of action. Evan Hilton chipped in with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field. The win improves the Bulldogs to 10-12 on the year and 7-7 in the SWAC. A&M will travel to face Prairie View on Sat. Feb. 27 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

There were eight lead changes as the score changed hands six times. A&M's bench outscored Alcorn's bench 21-17, and held a commanding 42-28 lead on the boards.

For the Braves, Tony Eackles used 10-of-14 shooting from the line in route to scoring a game-high 20 points in 27 mintues. Johnathan Boyd tallied 11 points. Iam Francis chipped in with eight points and pulled down a team-high eight off the glass. The loss drops Alcorn to 1-27 overall, and 1-14 in conference play.
