Box Score - Bo Amusa tallied a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds in 53-62 loss to Prairie View on Sat. Feb. 27. Evan Hilton chipped in with nine points. As a team, the Bulldogs were held to a stifling 25.4 percent shooting clip. The loss drops A&M to 7-8 in the SWAC. The Bulldogs are back in action on Mon. March 1 at Texas Southern beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs struggled to get things going on the offensive end in the first stint, as the Panthers took a 31-15 margin at the half. PVAM led 44-28 at the 9:38 mark until a Cornelius Hester jumper ignited an 11-2 run over a three-plus span to cut it to 46-39 with just over six minutes remaining in regulation. A pair at the line by Amusa brought the Bulldogs to within six, 47-41, but A&M would get no closer, however.
The Bulldogs converted 15 Panthers miscues into 13 points, while only committing nine turnovers for the game. Prairie View held a 48-47 edge on the boards over A&M, however.
Four players recorded double figured for PVAM. Michael Griffin and Chris Sights recorded 11 points apiece, while Christopher Jones and Darnell Hugee scored 10 each.
A&M will face Texas Southern in Houston, Tex. at 7:30 p.m.
