Bulldogs End Regular Season on High Note

Box Score / Katrich Williams scored a game-high 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead the Bulldogs in a 53-50 victory of Grambling in A&M's regular season finale. Whiquitta Tobar chipped in with nine points and six rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 44 percent from the field, and held a 33-31 edge on the glass. A&M ends the regular season 11-15 overall and 8-10 in the SWAC. The Bulldogs will be the No. 3 seed heading into the SWAC tournament and will face Alcorn State on Thurs. March 11 at noon in Shreveport, La.

The Tigers held the advantage for the majority of the second period, until a two free throws by Whiquitta Tobar gave A&M its first advantage, 45-44, since the 15:48 mark. A trey by GSU's Kristen Harper gave the Tiger's a slim two point cushion, 50-48, with just over four minutes remaining. A Tobar free-thow and a pair from Williams at the stripe a possession later gave A&M the lead for good at the 1:33 mark.

For Grambling, Secrett Anderson and Wykema Randle both had 12 points. Alexis Watson chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.

The Bulldogs head into the SWAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face Alcorn State in Shreveport, La. on Thurs. March 11.
