Lorman, MS – The Alabama A&M Bulldog’s basketball teams will face the Braves of Alcorn State University on Saturday, February 19, at 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. on the reservation.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 86-68 loss to their arch-rival Alabama State University this past Saturday. The 24th year head coach Vann Pettaway, has his team at 10-11 overall and 7-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. A&M is fourth in the league and defeated Alcorn 64-55 on January 11. Casey Cantey comes off the bench and leads the team in points per game with 11.3. Freshman Demarquelle Tabb is ranked first on the team averaging 5.3 rebounds a contest. He is first in offensive boards in the conference with 43 averaging 2.3 a game.
The Lady Bulldogs extended their win streak to two games with a 60-47 win over the Lady Hornets in their last contest. Whiquitta Tobar paces the Maroon & White averaging 18.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The Altherias Warmley led squad is in third place in the conference with an 8-4 league record.
