GRAMBLING -- Junior guard Whiquitta Tobar poured in a game high 22 points but it wasn’t enough as the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs fell to Grambling State, 67-56.
 
After trailing early to the Maroon & White (14-13, 10-7 SWAC), the Lady Tigers closed the first half on an 8-4 run to cut the lead to 33-30 at the break. GSU (13-15, 9-8 SWAC) then opened the second half on a 14-6 scoring spurt to take a commanding 58-43 lead with 4:53 left in regulation.
 
The Lady Tigers attacked the rim at every opportunity and subsequently was the beneficiary of 33 attempts from the charity stripe, 18 of which they converted.
 
A&M was outrebounded by GSU 47-33, with 16 boards from the offensive side.
 
Secrett Anderson scored a game high of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while teammates Jasher Blocker and Kristen Harper scored 12 and 11 points to round out the Lady Tiger's double figure scorers.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up 10 points from freshman Brittany Strickland and 22 from Tobar.
 
A&M ends the 2010-2011 regular season versus Jackson State on Saturday, March 5. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
