Box Score BATON ROUGE - Alabama A&M dug itself a huge first half hole Saturday at Southern and never recovered as the Jaguars handed the Bulldogs their second straight SWAC conference loss, 51-32. A&M committed 19 total turnovers and scored just eight points as SU built a 29-8 halftime lead. The lead never slipped below double digits for the remainder of the game.
For the game, Alabama A&M, shot just 45 percent from the free throw line (9-20), and made only one attempt from behind the three-point arc (1-13).
Sophomore guard Alyssa Strickland led the Bulldogs with seven points. She added three rebounds. Junior forward Nadra Robertson grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs on the glass.
The Bulldogs fall to 8-8 overall and 3-3 in the SWAC with the loss. A&M will travel to Alcorn, MS to face Alcorn State on Monday, January 23 at 5:00 p.m. The game can be heard live on
