Bulldog Basketball Host Texas Southern, In SWAC Action

NORMAL - The Alabama A&M basketball teams will host the Tigers of Texas Southern University, on Saturday, January 28, at 3 and 5 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs are 8-9 overall and are currently in sixth place of the Southwestern Athletic Conference holding on to a 3-4 record.

Senior guard Whiquitta Tobar leads the Maroon & White averaging 19.9 points per game. The All-American candidate is second on the team with 106 rebounds averaging 6.4 per contest. A&M fell to Alcorn State, 49-45 in their most recent contest.
 
Texas Southern brings in a 3-14 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the conference. Gianne Fleming leads the team averaging 10.7 points per game.
 
The Bulldogs (4-12, 2-5 SWAC) duo senior Casey Cantey scored 17 points and junior Demarquelle Tabb posted 16 points and seven rebounds, to lead the Maroon & White past Alcorn State 65-64 on Monday night in their first road win of the season.

The 6-13 Tiger men’s squad is led by Omar Strong with 11.2 points per game, and 2.3 rebounds per game.
