Auburn - Alabama A&M weekend continues with Women’s Basketball action

AUBURN - The AU vs. AAMU weekend continues with women’s basketball action when the Alabama A&M women's basketball team (1-1) takes on the Auburn Lady Tigers (2-1) Sunday afternoon at the Auburn Arena.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.

Sophomore Brittney Strickland has led Alabama A&M through the season thus far, averaging 12.1 points. Junior Jasmine Sander leads the team in rebounds with 8.0 per game.

As a team, Alabama A&M shoots 33 percent from the field and 28% from 3-point range. The Bulldogs average five 3-pointers per game with four different players hitting at least five this season. The A&M defense forces 3.8 turnovers per game on 10.8 steals while blocking 4.2 shots per game.

Auburn is coming off an 80-43 win over Alabama State on Thursday night. Head Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy picked up her first win in the Auburn Arena. Blanche Alverson led the Tigers in scoring with 17 points and added nine rebounds in the effort.
