A&M Basketball set to host Jackson State

NORMAL - The Alabama A&M basketball teams will face the Tigers of Jackson State University in SWAC double-header action on Thursday, March 1^st, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs will enter the contest with an overall 16-10 record, and an 11-5 conference mark. The Altherias Warmley led squad is currently tied for second place in the SWAC standings.

Tip-off for the women’s contest is set for 5:30 p.m.

All-American candidate Whitquitta Tobar was named the league women's basketball player of the week for the third consecutive time.

The 5-8 senior from Blytheville, Ark. averaged 15 points, 9.5 rebounds and two assists in the Lady Bulldogs Texas sweep over the weekend.

The Bulldogs currently hold a 6-19 overall mark, and a 4-12 SWAC record. The Maroon and White are currently sitting in the ninth position in the conference men’s standings.

Senior Casey Cantey ranks third in the conference in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game while teammate DeMarquelle Tabb is second in the league in block shots 2.6 per game and third in rebounding with 7.5.

Tip-Off is set for 7:30 p.m.
