AAMU to Start Second Half of SWAC Season against UAPB

NORMAL - The Alabama A&M men’s and women’s basketball team will face the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, February 4th at 5 and 7 p.m.

Alabama A&M enters Saturday contest with a 5-13 mark, but are 3-6 in conference play.

The Bulldogs average 61.1 points per game and are paced by senior Casey Cantey with a 14.6 point-per-game average.


Defensively he has a team-high eight steals and is second with 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Sophomore Demarquelle Tabb averages a near double-double on the year with 9.5 points and 7.6 rebounds. Tabb has also blocked a team-best eight shots this season.


The women’s team has been led by All-American candidate Whiquitta Tobar who is averaging 19.7 points a game. In the 18 total contests, Tobar has been the leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs including posting a season high 29 points versus Murray State.

As a team A&M is 10-9 overall and 5-4 in the SWAC and averages 59.8 points per game while allowing 59.


The Altherias Warmley squad is shooting 37 percent from the field, 29 percent from the three point line and 68 percent from the charity stripe.
