Marshall and Bailey earn week one honors

NORMAL – A&M’s Vernon Marshall and Reginald Bailey earn All-SWAC honors for their performances in the 7-6 victory over Tuskegee University Saturday night.

Marshall was name the College Sports Madness Southwestern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his eight tackles and his victory clinching block field goal in the final seconds of AAMU’s win over Tuskegee University.

The Madness identifies the highest impact players nationally and the top offensive and defensive player from each FCS conference in our weekly feature

Bailey earns his first accolade as a member of the Bulldog football team for his six tackles and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in his first contest. The Picayune, Miss. native was awarded defensive line honorable mention status by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).

“Well deserved honors for both guys,” Head Coach Anthony Jones mentioned. “Vernon played and exceptional game and Reginald did great for his first game as a Bulldog.”
