Celebrate MLK Weekend with A&M Basketball

-- The Alabama A&M basketball teams will host the Braves of Alcorn State University, on Saturday, January 19th, at 3 and 5 p.m. on “The Hill” in the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.
 
The Lady Bulldogs are 5-10 overall and are currently tied for second place of the Southwestern Athletic Conference holding on 4-1 record.
 
Junior forward Jasmine Sanders leads the Maroon & White averaging 9.4 points per game. Sanders, is second on the team in rebounding with 82 rebounds averaging 5.9 per contest. Alabama State defeated A&M, in overtime 69-67 on Saturday, January 12th.
 
Alcorn State leader is Carolinsia Crumbly who averages a double double per game with 12.5 points.

The Bulldogs are 7-9 overall and posts a 3-2 conference record. A&M was led by junior Demarquelle Tabb and Jeremy Crutcher with 17 and 16 points, respectively in the 64-57, victory over the Hornets of Alabama State.

The 6-15 Braves men’s squad is led by Marquiz Baker with 17.6 ppg, and 3.1 rebounds per game.

ESPN will celebrate the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior holiday on Monday, Jan. 21st.
 
ESPNU will televise games from the HBCU leagues, in a prime-time doubleheader: Bethune-Cookman at Savannah State at 6:30 p.m. EST, followed by Southern at Alabama A&M at 8:30 p.m. CST.
