Second Half Surge Falls Short, Men's Basketball Falls 82-68

Box Score RICHMOND, KY. - Jeremy Crutcher and Brandon Ellis each scored 14 points but it wasn't enough as Alabama A&M fell to Eastern Kentucky 82-68 on Tuesday night, in Richmond, Kentucky.

EKU took a commanding 54-28 lead in the first half shooting 48 percent from the field, making six of 12 three pointers. The Bulldogs shot 31 percent from the floor and went into the locker room to regroup at halftime.

A&M shut down the Colonels three point threat as EKU went zero for eight in the second half. The Colonels were outscored 40-28 by the Bulldogs.

With 8:20 left in the game, a three point basket by Crutcher cut into the Colonels 60-49 lead.

Moments later, AAMU chipped away even more on a basket by Brandon Ellis making the score 68-62. Eastern Kentucky responded by going inside to score five consecutive points to extend a 72-62 lead.

With less than 2:00 remaining, Eastern Kentucky went on a six to one run to extend their lead 76-63, connecting on all eight free throws. The Bulldogs were outrebounded 38-31, but scored 34 points to EKU's nine bench points.

Up Next, A&M will host Jacksonville State on "The Hill" on November, 25. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
