SPRINGFIELD – A&M men's basketball will go for win number four when they take on Missouri State University at 7:05 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri Saturday, December 21st.

The Bears have met Alabama A&M just once -- a 59-47 setback last season in Huntsville (12/18/12).

After taking a 25-24 lead into halftime on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Gavin Thurman, the Bears appeared to have momentum on their side. But after the intermission, the Bulldogs (3-6) made five of their first 11 shots on a 13-2 run in the first four minutes to sprint out to a 37-27 advantage. The Bears would get no closer than eight the rest of the game, thanks in part to a 40-23 rebounding advantage by A&M and 24 Bulldog points in the paint.

Alabama A&M athletics director Bryan Hicks was an associate AD at Missouri State from 2009-12.

A&M has been off for seven days since falling 72-47 at Ohio University last Saturday. Currently Jeremy Crutcher leads the team with 12.3 points per game and 30 assists in eight contests. Demarquelle Tabb leads the team with 6.3 rebounds a contest and 11.3 points.

Missouri State is coming off a 90-60 loss at the hands of Louisville. Jamar Gulley leads the Bears with 13.7 points and 5.7 boards a contest.  Marcus Marshall is second on the team with 12.5 points and 2.3 rebounds a game.
