AAMU Basketball takes on Alcorn State

Normal- The Bulldogs basketball teams will face the Braves of Alcorn State University on Saturday, February 16, at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on the reservation.

During their first meeting of the season, the Braves captured a tough victory over the Bulldogs, taking the contest at 69-59.

A&M was led by G.A. Hill who had 12 points hitting 9-10 from the charity stripe, Brandon Ellis scored 11 with 10 coming in the second half, and freshman Nicholas West posted his first double-digit performance of the season with 10 points going three-for-three from the 3-point line.

For the Braves, Maquiz Baker and LeAntwan Luckett scored 25 apiece for a combined 50 points to lead scoring. Five other Braves players combined for 19 points to seal the win.

The Lady Bulldogs cruised to victory versus the Lady Braves in their first meeting; taking a 20-point 64-44 win. Dominating point in the pain (34-20) and 17 points off turnovers helped A&M defeat the Braves.

Four Lady Bulldogs finished with double-digit points led by Shundray Davis, and Brittney Strickland who both finished 13.

Head Coach Altherias Warmley is just two wins away from her career win total of 150 at Alabama A&M.

Carolinsia Crumbly tallied seven points and seven rebounds and Tierra Frost added a team high 11 points in defeat for the Lady Braves.
