A&M To Close Out Regular Season in Jackson

Normal, Ala.  - The Alabama A&M Bulldogs’ basketball teams will battle the Tigers of Jackson State University on Saturday, March 2nd, in Jackson, Mississippi. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. for the women and 5 p.m. for the men.

The women’s basketball team enters the contest coming off a tough 70-67 loss to Grambling State. Alyssa and Brittney Strickland poured in a team high 17 points.

Earlier in the year the Lady Bulldogs defeated Jackson State 66-48, on “The Hill.”

JSU is led by Tiffany Kellum, who averages 12.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

In his 2nd season, the head coach Willie Hayes’ squad defeated Grambling State 74-47. Juniors Demarquelle Tabb and Brandon Ellis each led the Maroon and White with 14 points.

The Tigers are led by Kelsey Howard who averages 14.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Christian Williams is the second leading scorer with 13.4 points per game.

Last time these two met, Alabama A&M walked away with a 88-87 victory over JSU.
