The Series: This will be just the second meeting between the Broncos and the Bulldogs. WMU won the previous meeting between the two teams, played last year as the 2013-14 home opener at University Arena. The Broncos downed the Bulldogs 73-69 on Nov. 17.

The Opponent: Western Michigan men's basketball team held an early lead on the road, but the Broncos were unable to hold off a charge by Northwestern as the Wildcats won 67-61 at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Saturday. With the loss, the Broncos fall to 6-4 on the season. Connar Tava finished just one rebound shy of a double-double, recording 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while Tucker Haymond recorded a team-high 12 points in the loss.

Bulldogs on the Road: The Bulldogs went 5-11 in true road contests last season, including a 4-5 mark in conference play.

Bulldogs Picked to Finish Seventh: The Bulldogs, coming off of last season's fifth-place finish, were picked to finish seventh in the SWAC this season, picking up one first-place vote in the preseason poll voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
