Bulldogs Battle Southern on Saturday

NORMAL - The Alabama A&M women's basketball team (3-19, 1-11) hosts Southern University (15-6, 12-1) on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 4:00 p.m., in the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.

In the last four home games, the Bulldogs have averaged 67.8 points per game, more than four points higher than their season average of 63.2 ppg., and have forced 19.5 turnovers while only committing 19.2, a +0.3 turnover margin per game.

The Bulldogs, who leads the SWAC in free throw percentage is averaging 68 percent per game behind the stripe.

Jasmine Sanders dropped 19 points against ASU moving her closer to the 1,000 career points list. With 986 points, Sanders needs 14 more to earn her place among the elite Bulldog scorers.

Southern has been highlighted by their top-ranked defense, rebounding and balanced scoring. The Jaguars' are yielding 73.6 points per game and grabbing 47.0 percent of the rebounds, ruling the glass in 15 games.
