Box Score GREENWOOD, MS - In a fast-paced, highlight filled matched between Alabama A&M and Mississippi Valley State, the Bulldogs escaped the Mississippi Delta with their second conference win of the season, behind Ladarius Tabb career-high of 31 points, as Alabama A&M cruised past Mississippi Valley State, 86-73 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs shot a crisp 53.1 percent from the field (26 of 49) and knocked down 10 of 18 from behind the arc (55.6 percent).
A&M made its living from the free throw line, converting 24-of-31 shots from the charity stripe.
Meanwhile, the Delta Devils made 11-of-16 free throws.Â
The Delta Devils briefly took the lead with 16:30 left to play on a layup, but Tabb answered with one of his three 3-pointers and Alabama A&M led by as many as 15 points down the stretch. Tabb converted 10 of 18 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from distance. Nicolas West added 15 points while Rakiya Battle and Tyler Davis each added 12 for Alabama A&M (4-9, 2-1 SWAC).
Jordan Washington had 22 points to lead Mississippi Valley State (2-13, 1-1), with Rakwan Kelly adding 13 points
The Bulldogs will continue its road swing on Monday, January 12, facing the Lions of Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The tip-off will begin at 7:30 p.m.Â
