UC Coach Tuberville: I don’t know what to expect from Bulldogs

CINCINNATI – Saturday's game between the Bulldogs and the University of Cincinnati is the first meeting between the programs and Bearcats' Head Coach Tommy Tuberville says Alabama A&M is a mystery to him.

"I don't know what to expect," Tuberville said. "Their coach is organized and understands what he wants to do. He is looking for a quarterback, so it will be like one of those weeks when we roll the dice to prepare for what they are going to do."

Bulldogs Head Coach James Spady said Monday that junior college transfer De'Angelo Ballard would be the starting quarterback for the game.

Tuberville did note the Bulldogs defense is experienced and that with a couple of breaks, A&M's 4-8 record last year could have been different.

"Almost all of their defense is back," he said. "They didn't have a great season last year, but they lost four or five games by a total of about 15 points."

Bearcats quarterback Gunner Kiel said he is expecting a quick and athletic Bulldog team.

"… Not to underestimate our opponent but Alabama A&M is a great team," he said. "They are very explosive and very athletic. We need to go out there and be explosive and do the little things and just focus on us."

Kickoff for the game is 6 p.m. Central time and it can be seen on ESPN3 and Fox Sports Ohio. The game will be broadcast on WJAB-FM 90.9 radio with Ted Dixie on the play-by-play.
