Gameday: Cousin vs. Cousin on the gridiron

JACKSON, Miss. -- When A&M quarterback De'Angelo Ballard looks across the line Saturday at the Jackson State defense, he'll be seeing a familiar face looking back.

Familiar as in family ... as in cousins.

Familiar as in high school teammates and classmates.

Familiar as in linebacker/defensive end Javancy Jones. No. 29.

But the family and friendship will be put on the sidelines for about 60 minutes when the two teams take the field at Jackson Memorial Stadium.

Ballard is second in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in total offense with 2,278 total yards for an average of 253.1 yards per game.

Jones is the leading tackler for Jackson State and is fifth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with 62 total tackles (32 solo, 30 assists) and an average of 7.8 tackles per game.

Both seniors.

Both leaders of their teams.

Both teams battling for a chance to win the East Division title.
