BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama A&M women's basketball team will travel to Birmingham, Ala., to take on Samford Bulldogs Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT) at Pete Hanna Stadium.
Alabama A&M and Samford are meeting for the fifth time ever in women's basketball, with Samford leading 3-1 in the series. The programs last met on Dec. 2015 in T.M. Elmore Gym, with Samford taking a 54-30 win in the contest.
The Lady Bulldogs enters Saturday afternoon's game with a record of 2-4. The Bulldogs are coming off a 68-65 win over Oakwood Tuesday evening in the T.M. Elmore Gym.
AAMU is led offensively by Jameica Cobb averaging 16.7 points per game. Hilary Williams scores 8.0 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Cobb is Alabama A&M's team leader in rebounding, grabbing 8.7 boards per contest. Alisha Davis averages 4.3 rebounds per game.
Williams leads AAMU in assists, dishing out 2.2 assists per game. Cobb averages 1.7 assists per contest.
Samford comes into Saturday's game with a record of 3-4. The Bulldogs are coming off a 63-49 win over Alabama State Wednesday evening.
Samford is led in scoring by Kassidy Blevins, averaging 16.0 points per game. Hannah Nichols scores 15.6 points per game.
Samantha Fitzgerald leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 4.7 boards per contest. Ellen Riggins pulls down 4.1 rebounds per game.
Charity Brown is the team leader in assists, dishing out 3.7 assists per game. Brittany Stevens averages 3.3 assists per game for Samford.
