In the Last Game
The Alabama A&M women's basketball team was upended by the Alabama State Lady Hornets 53-37 on Saturday afternoon in the rival match at T.M. Elmore Gym. A&M was led by junior Hilary Williams who scored 11 points. Senior Ebony Johnson and freshman Jameica Cobb each had six points. Johnson and freshman Juliette Akinwole led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounds with four each.

Against the Opponent
Last season, Southern swept both games between the two teams, winning 77-38 in Baton Rouge, LA and 68-62 in T.M. Elmore Gym.

Scouting the Opponent
Southern has a 7-7 overall record, including a 51-44 win over Mississippi Valley in their last contest. The Jaguars are led by Briana Green with 14.5 points per game, while Cortnei Purnell adds 11.8 ppg and Miaya Crowder posts 9.2 ppg. Purnell has a team-best 6.4 rebound per contest and Green leads with 3.7 assists per game.
