LORMAN, Miss. -- The Bulldogs visit Alcorn State today in a battle for first place in the SWAC East Division.

The Bulldogs at 3-2 are just a half-game behind Alcorn State, 3-1.

An A&M win will put the Bulldogs a half-game up with one conference game left to play - Jackson State at Louis Crews Stadium next Saturday.

The Braves, after today, have two games left - Mississippi Valley State next Saturday and at Jackson State on Nov. 18.

If both teams finish 5-2, the Bulldogs would win the division by a head-to-head tiebreaker.

The winner of the East meets the winner of the in the final Toyota SWAC Football Championship Game on Dec. 2 in NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The SWAC champion will then face the best of the MEAC in the Dec. 16 Celebration Bowl at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Next year, the SWAC will drop the two-division format in football and the first-place team will represent the conference in the 2018 Celebration Bowl.
