Men's basketball hosts Southern Miss tonight

THE BASICS
The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team will host Southern Miss for a Wednesday evening non-conference game in Elmore Gym, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs (0-9) enters Wednesday match after a 89-53 loss to DePaul on Monday evening.

Offensively, sophomore De'Ederick Petty is leading the team with 13.8 points per game, followed closely by Junior Arthur Johnson with 12.6 points per game. Junior Andre Kennedy is adding 7.7 points per game.

Kennedy is leading the team in rebounding with an average of 5.3 boards per game, followed by Johnson's 3.9 boards per game.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Southern Miss enters today's game with a 5-4 record. The Golden Eagles picked up an 89-71 win over Troy on Sunday evening, behind 57 percent shooting.

Southern Miss is led offensively by Tyree Griffin with 16.1 points per game. Cortez Edwards adds 15.9 points per game, followed by Dominic Magee with 11.8 points per game.

HEAD TO HEAD
Tonight's game marks the second meeting between the Bulldogs and the Golden Eagles. Southern Miss picked up a 63-55 win over Alabama A&M in last season's meeting.
