Lady Bulldogs drop final non-conference game at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--- In its final non-conference game of the season, the Alabama A&M University women's basketball team fell to Lipscomb University, 50-66, on the road in Nashville, Tenn.

Leading the Lady Bulldogs was Nigeria Jones who finished with 12 points and two steals, while Natalie Collins and Ashlyn Dotson each added seven points. Aubriana Bonner led the team in rebounds with eight followed by Tierra Dark's seven boards. The Lady Bisons were led by Loren Cagle who had 14 points and 17 rebounds.

In the first quarter, Lipscomb started the game off leading, but the Lady Bulldogs were able to keep up with the Lady Bisons not allowing them to go up more than six points. Down by six with 1:26 on the clock, a jumper from Dark and a three-pointer from Collins cut Lipscomb's lead to one, 16-15. This was the closest the Lady Bulldogs were able to get in the first half as the Lady Bisons extended their lead in the second quarter by 13, 37-24, heading into locker room.

After Lipscomb made it 40-26 in the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs rallied to get it to 11 points on a three-pointer from Jones. Alabama A&M would continue to battle, but it wasn't enough as Lipscomb's offense dominated in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

The Lady Bulldogs take two days off before returning to action on Jan. 1 to start Southwestern Athletic Conference play as they travel to Grambling State.
