In the Last Game
A slow start was too much to overcome for the Alabama A&M women's basketball team as the Lady Bulldogs fell 65-35 to Alabama State Saturday afternoon in Dunn-Oliver Acadome in Montgomery, AL. Freshman guard Jameica Cobb led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points and six rebounds, while forward senior Ebony Johnson contributed six points and three rebounds. Junior guard Hilary Williams led the team with four steals and added four boards for the Lady Bulldogs. 

Against the Opponent
The Lady Bulldogs fell to Southern Jaguars 66-54 on Sat., Jan. 21 at T.M. Elmore Gym. A&M was led by freshman Jameica Cobb with 18 points followed by senior Ebony Johnson with 14 points. Freshman Lauren McKee added 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Cobb led A&M with seven rebounds followed by Johnson's six. Junior Hilary Williams led the team with six assists and contributed six rebounds.  

Scouting the Opponent
Southern has a 11-11 overall record, including a 62-51 win over Mississippi Valley in their last contest.  The Jaguars are led by Briana Green with 14.8 points per game, while Cortnei Purnell adds 11.5 ppg and Miaya Crowder posts 9.2 ppg.  Purnell has a team-best 6.5 rebound per contest and Green leads with 3.5 assists per game.

Jameica Cobb is seventh in the SWAC in scoring with 13.7 points per game and sixth with 6.5 rebounds per game. Hilary Williams is sixth in the SWAC with 3.1 assists per game and she is second in the SWAC with 2.3 steals. Josta Totten is fifth in the SWAC with a 300 three-point field goal percentage.
