Gameday: Valley on The Hill

HUNTSVILLE -- The Bulldogs are back in action today to take on Mississippi Valley State.

Tipoff is 6 p.m. at Elmore Gym.

The Lady Bulldogs play at 4 p.m. with a special Think Pink event.

This is the start of the second half of the SWAC season and the Bulldogs defeated MVSU 79-76 last month in Itta Bena, MS.

A trio of Bulldogs scored in double figures with Quinterian McConico had a double-double with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Marcus Merriweather hit 5 of 6 three-pointers and finished with 17 points with De'Ederick Petty adding 12 points. Rakiya Battle picked up seven assists.

McConico leads the SWAC with five double-doubles; he's also ninth in scoring (13.6 points per game) and sixth in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and his .571 field-goal percentage is second in the league.

Battle is tops in the league with a 1.8 assists/turnover ratio and he's second with 97 assists and a 4.9 assists per game average.
