LORMAN, Miss.
– Alabama A&M University men's basketball team continues in Southwestern Athletic Conference play on Saturday, as the Bulldogs face Alcorn State in a 5 p.m. showdown at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

The Bulldogs (2-16, 2-3 SWAC) fell in their last road game at Alabama State, 70-67, on Jan. 13 after a tremendous second half comeback effort fell short.

De'Ederick Petty lead the Bulldogs with 13 points and added four rebounds. Arthur Johnson contributed 12 points and pulled down six boards, while Jalen Reeder recorded 10 points and five boards. Evan Wiley had a team-high seven rebounds and grabbed six points.

Petty and Johnson both pace the team with 10.2 points per game followed by Andre Kennedy who averages 7.2 points per game. Kennedy leads the Bulldogs with 5.8 rebounds per game and is fifth in the league in the category. Petty leads the SWAC with a .843 free throw percentage. Dotson is third in the SWAC with a .470 field goal percentage. McKee is fifth in assists in the league averaging 3.3 per game.

Alabama A&M enters the weekend shooting 377-960 (39.3 percent) from the field, including 147-383 (38.4 percent) from beyond the arc, and 210-311 (67.5 percent) at the free-throw line.
 
LOOKING AT THE BRAVES
The Braves (5-14, 1-5 SWAC) picked up their first SWAC win last weekend when defeated Mississippi Valley State 77-63 on the road. A.J. Mosby lead the team in the win with a career-high 23 points and Maurice Howard added 20 points.
 
Mosby averages a team-high 13.2 points per game, followed by Dante Sterling who averages 9.9 points per game. Mosby also leads in rebounds (4.2 rpg), assists (3.5 apg) and steals (1.3 spg).
 
The Braves shoot 459-1088 (42.2 percent) from the floor, 153-464 (33 percent) from distance, and 227-334 (68 percent) at the charity stripe.

Last year, the Braves won both matches against the Bulldogs, winning 81-70 in Huntsville, Ala. on Jan. 23 and then earned a 74-59 victory Feb. 20 at home.
