Samford rallies past Alabama A&M in second half

HUNTSVILLE — Ruben Gurrero just missed a double-double as Samford rallied past Alabama A&M 77-59 Sunday night in a non-conference men's basketball game.

Gurerro led Samford (8-2) with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Samford led 30-26 at halftime, but Alabama A&M (0-9) stole momentum early in the second half, taking a two-point lead with about 12 minutes remaining in the game.

But the lead did not last long.

Samford responded with a 9-2 run, and the Bulldogs never trailed again.

Arthur Johnson led Alabama A&M with 16 points, while Brandon Miller scored 12. Andre Kennedy added 10.
