GAMEDAY: MBB Hosts Alcorn State

HUNTSVILLE– The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team will host Alcorn State Braves on Saturday, February 17. The matchup between The Bulldogs and The Braves is slated for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.

The Bulldogs (2-23, 2-10 SWAC) fell in their last home game 69-50 to rival Alabama State.

Andre Kennedy led the Bulldogs with 16 points and added nine rebounds. Arthur Johnson contributed 11 points while grabbing eight rebounds. The bulldogs would shoot 38 percent in their losing effort.

Johnson leads the team in scoring win 10.8 points per game. Followed by De'Ederick Petty is second in team scoring with 9.2 points per game. Kennedy leads in rebounds per game with 5.9 per game.

Alabama A&M enters the weekend shooting 532-1360 (39.1 percent) from the field, including 147-488 (30.1 percent) from beyond the arc, and 283-439 (64.5 percent) at the free-throw line.

The Braves (9-17, 5-8 SWAC) took their fifth SWAC win this past Monday against Jackson state by winning 84-52 at home. AJ Mosby led with 22 points and four assists.

Mosby leads in scoring with a team-high 14.6 points per game with 4.6 rebounds as well, followed by Reginal Johnson who averages 12.3 points per game. Yalen Reed leads the team in rebounds with 4.9 rebounds per game.

The Braves shoot 632-1487 (42.5 percent) from the floor, 211-605 (34.9 percent) from distance, and 327-467 (70.0 percent) at the charity stripe.

The Braves beat the Bulldogs earlier this season by a score of 68-52 back in Lorman, MS.
