PINE BLUFF, AR. --- The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team starts this weekend's road trip at Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday afternoon at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

ALABAMA A&M vs. ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF
In their first matchup this season, the Lady Bulldogs team pulled ahead of Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Jan. 6 to earn its first Southwestern Athletic Conference victory of the season, 52-49, at Elmore Gym. In the win, Ashlyn Dotson led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points and Faith Ohanta led the Golden Lions with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
 
ABOUT ALABAMA A&M
The Lady Bulldogs (8-12, 3-6 SWAC)  fell to the visiting Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers, 55-48, on Monday evening in Elmore Gym. Natalie Collins led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points and added four rebounds. Nigeria Jones recorded eight points, while Dotson, Jameica Cobb and Kanisha Tharpe each contributed six points. Aubriana Bonner had a team-high eight rebounds. AAMU is 8-12 overall and 3-6, seventh in the SWAC standings.
 
 Dotson leads the team in scoring with 8.7 points per game and has 4.4 rebounds per game. Jones is second on the team in scoring with 8.2 points per game and has a team-best 62 assists and 29 steals. Natalie Collins leads the Lady Bulldogs from the 3-point line with 35 3-pointers and is third on the team in scoring with 6.9 points per game.
 
ABOUT UAPB
The Golden Lions are 3-16 on the year and 1-8 in league play. They are entering Saturday's matchup on a eight-game losing streak after falling to Jackson State on Monday, 60-54.  Ohanta led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds. UAPB is averaging 54.2 points per game and allow opponents 70.2. They are shooting 34 percent from the field, 18.7 percent from the 3-point line and 66.8 percent from the free throw line.
 
Ohanta leads the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game and leads with 8.8 rebounds per game. Destiny Brewton is second in scoring with 8.2 points per game and leads with 3.3 assists per game.
