BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--- The Alabama A&M University baseball team fell to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, 6-3, Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs fall to 7-23 overall. The Blazers improve to 13-14.
The Bulldogs fell behind early, trailing 1-0 after one.Â
AAMU tied the score in the third, when Raymond Santiago hit a RBI double to allow a run to score and tie the score at 1-1.
AAMU took the lead in the top of the fifth. Dalton Mitchell and Carson McGregory both walked with the bases loaded to give the Bulldogs two runs and make the score 3-2.
UAB answered in the bottom of the inning with three runs, making the score 4-3. The Blazers added two runs in the seventh, to take the three run victory over AAMU.
Alabama A&M used four pitchers in the ball game. Clayton Warner (1-3) took the loss for the Bulldogs, tossing 5.0 innings giving up three hits and four earned runs with four walks and one strike out. Jaret Britt pitched 1.2 innings giving up no hits and striking out two. Fernando Diaz Jr. came in to pitch one inning giving up two hits and two earned runs with three walks. Dalton Mitchell finished the ball game pitching one inning, giving up no hits and striking out two.
