Alabama A&M Softball season ends in a tight battle with Texas Southern

MONTGOMERY, Ala __ After a regular season series that saw Texas Southern win all three games, the Lady Bulldogs put up a strong showing in a revenge game for a chance to advance to the semifinal round of the SWAC Championship. 
 
The game was dominated early by the pitching duel between Texas Southern's Naomi Reyes and Alyssa Lopez of Alabama A&M. 
 
After minimal offense in the first four innings, Tavanae Tate took Lopez deep in the bottom half of the inning with no outs to break the tie between the teams, and proved to be the final score.
 
Danielle Hansell and Ariel McAtee gained the only two hits for the Lady Bulldogs, while Lopez (1-3) picked up the final loss of the season.
 
Naomi Reyes (12-7) picked up the win for the Tigers only giving up two hits of her own and six strikeouts.
 
The Lady Bulldogs finished the season with the most wins in program history (24) in Coach Cassandra Brown's first year at the helm.
