Five Alabama A&M football players have been named to preseason all-conference team
 
BIRMINGHAM — Five Alabama A&M football players have been named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference's preseason all-conference team.
 
Junior linebacker Armoni Holloway and redshirt-sophomore tight end Kendric Johnson were first-team selections. Junior quarterback Aqeel Glass, sophomore wide receiver Brian Jenkins Jr. and junior offensive lineman Shonye Reams were second-team selections.
 
Holloway led the SWAC in tackles last season with 108, while Johnson led all tight ends in the league with 189 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 
Glass led the SWAC last season in passing with 2,412 yards and 20 touchdowns, while Jenkins led Alabama A&M with three receiving touchdowns.
 
Alabama A&M was picked to finish second in the SWAC East. Alcorn State was projected to win the division. Southern was picked to win the SWAC West.
 
The SWAC preseason all-conference team is selected by the sports information directors and head coaches from the league's 10 member institutions.
