Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. __ Alabama A&M men's basketball was held to a season-low 46 points in loss on the road at Southern on Monday night.
Cameron Alford led the Bulldogs (5-13 overall, 2-5 SWAC) as the only player in double figures, finishing with 11 points and five rebounds.

First Half
- After EJ Williams opened up the game with a free throw, Southern went on a 4-0 run to take the lead before the Bulldogs reclaimed that lead, 5-4, at the 17:57 mark of the first half.
- Over the next few minutes, the Jaguars stretched their lead to 12 as they went on a 13-0 run to put the score at 17-5 with 12:55 to play.
- Forward TJ Parham scored with 10 minutes to go, to end the drought for the Bulldogs, however they could not get the deficit below ten points as the Jaguars continued to play strong on both ends.
- At the seven-minute mark after a three-pointer by guard Brandon Miller, Southern went on another run, this time a 7-0 run to go up 19 points, 31-12, with 5:27 to play in the half.
- The Bulldogs headed into the locker room for halftime down 15, 35-20.
Second Half
- The second half did not bring about much change in the game, as the Jaguars continued to control the momentum and pushing their lead to 20 points at the 16-minute mark of the half.
- After finding themselves down big, the Bulldogs made a free throw to end a six-minute scoring drought to put the score at 47-25 Southern.
- The Bulldogs reduced the deficit below 20 once more on a jumper by Alford, before Southern went on a 17-7 run to go up 26 points, their largest lead of the game with 4:20 to play.
- The Bulldogs fell by a final of 67-46, and were led by Alford, who finished with 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting, five rebounds and two steals. Garrett Hicks and Cameron Tucker were the next highest scorers at seven points each.
Post-Game Notes
- Alabama A&M starters: Cameron Tucker, Garrett Hicks, Cameron Alford, Evan Wiley, EJ Williams
- The Bulldogs shot 18-for-44 (40.9 percent) from the field as a team for the game, 3-for-13 (23.1 percent) from the three-point line and 7-for-13 from the charity stripe (53.8Â percent).
- Alabama A&M won the battle in the paint, as they outscored Southern in the lane 22-21 in the contest.
- The Jaguars won the rebounding battle 31-26. The Bulldogs grabbed offensive rebounds, however failed to score any second chance points. Southern scored seven second chance points off of five offensive boards.
- The Bulldog bench was outscored by the Jaguars bench 19-15.
- Turnovers: A&M scored 15 points off of 14 forced turnovers, while Southern scored 21 points off of 23 Bulldog turnovers.
