Softball Falls to Central Arkansas, Montana in Louisiana

METAIRIE, La. – Softball finds run production on second day of Big Easy Tournament but lose two on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs fell this morning to Central Arkansas 4-0 and dropped game two of the day 12-3 to Montana.

GAME ONE
Sophomore McHailee Danner pitched three scoreless innings, in her first start of the season against Central Arkansas. Danner forced the Bears into five fly outs and two groundouts during the first three frames, before UCA put up two runs in the fourth, followed by one in both the fifth and sixth innings.

Alabama A&M was held scoreless for the third consecutive game and unable to find any offensive production in the contest as the Lady Bulldogs were held to just four hits in 22 at bats. 

Danner pitched 5 2/3 innings on the mound, facing 23 at bats, giving up three runs and seven hits. Danner also struck out two batters in the loss.

GAME TWO
After struggling to get any offensive momentum in the tournament so far, the Lady Bulldogs scored three runs on two hits, to take a 3-0 lead in the second inning of the second game of the day.

Senior SWAC Preseason Player of the Year Tamia Lee-Barbadillo led A&M with a single, stolen base and a run scored, while freshman Jacqueline Rookaird recorded a single and first career RBI in the loss.

Montana got on the board with two runs in the fourth, followed by three in the fifth to take the lead, and finished with seven runs in the sixth and final inning. The Grizzlies held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless over the final four innings.

Lisabelle Hansell pitched her first game on the mound of the year, pitching 4 2/3 innings in the circle, faced 17 batters and allowed five runs off of four hits in the loss. Alabama A&M fell to 0-4 to start off the season at the Big Easy Tournament.
