Men's basketball Season Ends at Prairie View in SWAC quarterfinals

Box Score PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- The Alabama A&M men's basketball team's season came to an end Tuesday night as the Bulldogs fell 82-60 at Prairie View A&M in the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinals.

Prairie View led almost the entire game, taking a 10-point cushion into halftime.

For Alabama A&M (8-22), turnovers were an issue. The Bulldogs turned the ball over a season-high 25 times, allowing Prairie View (19-13) to score 30 points on turnovers and 20 points in transition.

Two Alabama A&M players reached double-figures in scoring, with Brandon Miller and Brandon Houston each scoring 11. Jalen Johnson finished with eight points, while Garrett Hicks and Cameron Tucker each scored seven.

  • Alabama A&M won the battle in the paint, outscoring Prairie View in the lane 36-34 in the contest.
  • The Bulldogs also won the rebounding battle 33-31, A&M grabbed four offensive rebounds and only scored second chance points, while the Panthers grabbed eight offensive boards for 12 second chance points.
  • The Bulldog bench outscored the Panther bench in the matchup, producing 28 points to the 27 scored by Prairie View.
  • Turnovers: Prairie View won the turnover battle, turning the ball over just 10 times and giving up only nine points off of the turnovers. The Bulldogs turned the ball over 24 times, and allowed 30 points off of their miscues.
