Baseball falls at Samford

HOMEWOOD, Ala. — Taylor Garris drove in a pair of runs as Samford topped Alabama A&M 5-1 Tuesday night in a non-conference baseball game.

Samford (13-2) pushed four runs across in the bottom of the third inning.

Alabama A&M (3-14) scored one in the top of the eighth when Kyle Redmond drove in Pierre Brewton, but Samford answered with a run in the bottom half of the frame.

Jackson Holcombe, Dillon Roop and Brewton each had one hit for Alabama A&M.

Alabama A&M hosts Jackson State on Friday at 3 p.m. to open a three-game SWAC series.
