HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Southwestern Athletic Conference has suspended all athletic competition until March 31.

The decision was made due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"The conference will continue to assess this very fluid situation in consultation with governmental and public health officials and the NCAA, ensuring that we take all the preventative measures needed to protect our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans," SWAC officials said in a release.

The suspension includes regular-season competition for teams in all sports within the SWAC, along with SWAC championship events.
