HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Alabama A&M men's basketball program faces another road test on Saturday afternoon, taking on Florida A&M inside the Al Lawson Center for Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action.
The Bulldogs (7-13, 3-4 SWAC) came away with a win against Prairie View A&M in their last outing, ending a ten-game losing streak against the Panthers dating back to the 2016-17 season. The team is ranked second in the conference in scoring offense under first year head coach
Otis Hughley, Jr., averaging 70.1 points per game and shooting 43.6 percent from the field, good for third in the SWAC.
Senior
Garrett Hicks (Madison, Ala.) leads the team and is third in the SWAC in scoring at 15.7 points per contest, while also leading in three-point percentage at 48.1 percent and being second in overall field goal percentage at 47 percent from the floor.
The Rattlers (3-15, 1-6) come into the meeting after falling to Alcorn State (Jan. 21) and Jackson State (Jan. 23) over the past week. A trio of juniors lead the way offensively for the program, led by guard Jordan Tillmon at 11.2 points, followed by guard Dimingus Stevens and forward Jaylen Bates at 9.6 and 9.5 points per contest. Florida A&M is 3-2 at home so far on the year.
