HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __ Alabama A&M women's tennis dropped their weekend road match on Saturday afternoon, 7-0, to UT Chattanooga at the Strang-Voges Tennis Center.
UT Chattanooga (8-1) proved too much for the Bulldogs (4-5) with the clean sweep in the contest.
The Mocs took the advantage early in double's competition as the Trojans fell 2-0 after
Neha Ghare (Pune, Ind.) and
Alicia Owegi (Nairobi, Kenya) lost to Coco Bosman and Lucia Melendez, 6-0.
Camila Ruiz Diaz (Asuncion, Paraguay) and
Ariadna Ondo Cerezo (Valencia, Spain) followed suit on court two, dropping 6-1 against Nicole Abel and Pippa Bosman, leaving the
Jasmine Boyd (Marion, Ind.) and
Yana Dhamija (Gurugram, India) match unfinished at 4-1 at No. 1.
There was more of the same heading into singles play, starting with Rozalie Dohnalova taking both sets over Ondo-Cerezo 6-0, 6-2 at court six, before Dhamija also fell in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
The Trojans dropped the following two points before Ghare delivered a fight, dropping the first set 7-5, before a 6-1 second set at No. 3. Boyd dropped the final game at court one to Jessie Young by scores of 6-4, 7-5.
