FLORENCE, Ala. __ The Alabama A&M women's tennis team dropped a midweek non-conference road match in their first action of the week, as the Bulldogs fell 4-0 at North Alabama on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions (5-8) started off strong with the doubles point, as
Deja Brown and
Camila Ruiz Diaz along with
Alicia Owegi and
Ariadna Ondo Cerezo both fell 6-0 in their respective pairings on courts two and three. At No. 1,
Jasmine Boyd and
Yana Dhamija led 5-0, before ending unfinished after UNA secured the point.
All three winning slots swung straight sets in singles play, with
Jasmine Boyd dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Juliette Talieu in the No. 2 spot, while Brown fell 7-5, 6-0 against Martina Paladini in the No. 1 spot.
Ruiz Diaz took a 6-1, 7-6 loss on court three to wrap up competition, while all three unfinished matches going for three sets. Dhamija went 6-2, 5-7, 2-1 on court four, while Owegi (6-2, 2-6, 3-2) and Ondo Cerezo (3-6, 6-2, 3-2) also pushed their pairings in their individual battles.
A&M will have their fifth straight contest away from home on Friday, as they prepare for ACC opponent Florida State. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the UAB Tennis Courts in Birmingham.
