JACKSON, Miss. – Alabama A&M baseball dropped game two of their road series against Jackson State to open Southwestern Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a 18-6 setback inside Braddy Field.
Four Bulldogs combined for all five of the Bulldogs' hits on the day, including a pair of hits from
Jalen Parker, along with hits from
Chevalier Dorris,
Jalen Ford, and
Mekhi Lloyd, however the Tigers' offense put together 18 runs on 10 hits and had four scoring innings to claim the second meeting between the two clubs on the weekend.
The Bulldogs took an early lead in the contest with an RBI double from Parker, giving the outfielder his 11th of the season. Dorris later drove in a run on an RBI single, while
CJ Mervilus stole home for the third run of the second inning.

A&M earned all five of its hits in the first four innings combined, going for six runs during the span. The Tigers found their offense in the bottom half of the third, scoring a pair of runs to cut into the lead, while tacking on three more in the fourth to pull within a run at 6-5.

Jackson State expanded the lead with back-to-back big innings, adding eight in the fifth and five in the sixth. D. Bannon hit a sacrifice fly to score the first run to tie the game at 6-6, before an offensive onslaught from JSU, scoring a run on a wild pitch, before the next six were driven in from hits at the plate. They secured the win in seven innings after holding A&M scoreless in the top of the seventh, taking the 18-6 final.
Evan Crenshaw earned the start on the mound for the Bulldogs, working 3.1 innings and allowing four runs off two hits and facing 19 batters.
Tyler Campbell (1.2 IP) and
Anthony Mateo (0.2 IP) both worked out of the bullpen, while
Roman Sorrell (0.1 IP) picked up the loss.
Alabama A&M continues weekend action on Sunday with the finale of the three-game series held at Braddy Field. First pitch for game three is set for 1 p.m.
